In 2023, I fell in love with painting from Polaroid photos. I’m an avid polaroid-taker, and something abut the light quality of a good polaroid always gave me inspiration to paint.
This piece is a delightful one, painted from a polaroid taken during a trip to Europe. I was in the medieval town of Bruges - just about an hour train ride outside of Amsterdam. In the afternoon my husband and I took a Belgian waffle making class, which turned out to be a highlight of our experience there.
The secret to a great Belgian waffle - pairing it with a local beer!
